• College Visit Day Requests For Myrtle Beach High School Students:

  1. Call and make an appointment with the admissions office of the college you would like to visit

  2. Please complete the COLLEGE VISIT FORM.  (These forms are also available in the MBHS School Counseling Office). You must obtain approval signatures from your parent, school counselor and a school administrator prior to your college visit.. Students are responsible for any schoolwork and assignments missed due to the absences.

  3. Get ready for your visit! Do some more research on the college and prepare some questions to ask the college you are visiting

  4. After your visit, please return this form to the attendance  clerk in the Front Office,  otherwise you will be counted as having an unexcused absence.

Recommendation Request Form

Dos for Requesting College Recommendation Letters:

• Approach 10th or 11th-grade teachers who know you well.
• Ask early, ideally before junior year ends or in early fall, as popular teachers may have limited availability.
• Schedule a one-on-one meeting for your request rather than a quick chat.
• Update teachers on your application status and colleges or programs you're considering.
• Share your reasons for choosing them and express gratitude to foster a supportive letter.

Don'ts for Requesting Recommendation Letters:

• Avoid last-minute requests; teachers' time is valuable.
• Don't ask to review the letter; trust their writing abilities.
• Refrain from sending extra letters; prioritize strong letters from academic teachers.
• Don't select teachers based solely on grades; those who challenged you may know you better.
