HCS Begins H1N1 Immunizations

Beginning on November 9th, free H1N1 flu vaccine is being made available to all students of Horry County Schools through a cooperative effort between Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and the School District. Please click here for important information regarding the H1N1 flu shots.

All County Orchestra

The junior and senior All County Orchestra Clinic will take place on January 21 - 22, 2010, at Myrtle Beach High School. Students were selected for the two groups by audition. The senior clinic will be conducted this year by William Hofeldt, a renowned composer and clinician. Mr. Hofeldt frequently conducts All State and Region orchestras and composes orchestral literature that is performed in middle and high school orchestra programs worldwide. He is bringing to the clinic a new composition which he has written especially for this event. Students participating in this clinic will perform this composition for the first time. Click here to see the list of MBHS orchestra students who were selected to participate in this exciting event.

Holiday Concert

The Myrtle Beach Bands annual holiday concert will be held Thursday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Myrtle Beach High School Auditorium.  The concert will feature all students in our band program from our beginners in 6th grade to our high school ensemble and even our jazz combo.  We look forward to seeing you there and hope that you can make plans to bring your family and enjoy the hard work our band students have put in so far this year.  Admission to our concert is free and open to the public.

As a part of our band mission to give back to the community that supports us, we will be taking up canned goods and clothing items to give to the local shelter.  There will also be an opportunity for anyone who wishes to make a donation to the Champions of Hope Foundation to assist with homeless students and families here in our community.
