| Senior Awards |

Myrtle Beach High School presented the Senior Class of 2009 annual awards and scholarships assembly on May 19. 2009, at 6:30 p.m. Each senior was honored with an award, and seniors with the highest grade point average, scholarship recipients, leadership and service awards, and individual senior accomplishments were presented certificates and plaques. College and military acceptances for each senior were also recognized. The MBHS Senior Class of 2009 has been offered over 6 million dollars in scholarships and grants to continue their educational goals. | Underclassmen Awards |

Myrtle Beach High School presented underclassmen awards at the annual assembly program on May 19, 2009. Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 were presented certificates from their subject teachers by achieving the highest grade point average in their classes from first and second semesters. | Free or Reduced Meal Information |
| Horry County Schools will host application workshops for families interested in applying for free and reduced meals for the 2009-2010 school year. Food Services staff will hold workshops on three days at eight school locations to answer questions and assist parents with completing applications. The workshops will be held on July 7 and 8 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on July 9 from 1 – 7 p.m. at the following locations: Green Sea Floyds Elementary, Loris Elementary, North Myrtle Beach Primary, Myrtle Beach Primary, Socastee Elementary, Whittemore Park Middle, Homewood Elementary, and Socastee Elementary. | Summer Reading 2009 |
|
The purpose of Horry County Schools’ Summer Reading Initiative is to promote a love of reading and to continue developing critical thinking skills. All students are required to read one book of choice during the summer, while all AP and Honors students will read one book of choice and one required text. When school begins, students will create a “Book in a Box” project that will be presented during the second week of school. >> More
